Resources for Students’ Wellness

The members of the Equity and Diversity Committee would like to remind all students that there are many resources available to help manage high stress levels. Stress can manifest itself differently from person to person and the manner in which people cope and manage stress is very individualized. Movie Screening: “Consent” – October 22, 7:30 pm at Fletcher Challenge Theatre

Please join the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network and Goldelox Productions for the Vancouver premiere of the ground-breaking new documentary film, Consent: HIV Non-Disclosure and Sexual Assault Law, on October 22nd at 7:30pm at the Fletcher Challenge Theatre (515 West Hasting Street). This film will shine a light on the problems of criminalizing non-disclosure of HIV status, and how to challenge the problematic legal framing which affects all people living with HIV. All ALSS members are encouraged to examine the proposed budget and send any inquiries or concerns to Jen Horton, the ALSS Director of finance prior to the budget meeting on Thursday, September 24th, 2015. The Equity & Diversity Committee is chaired by the ALSS Ombudsperson and is responsible for fostering an equitable and respectful learning environment at Allard Law. 1L Election Information Academic Council (4 positions) The Academic Council represents your academic interests at the law school and deals will all aspects of student life that touch on academic performance. Representatives sit on Faculty Council and participate in faculty committees regarding matters such as the law school curriculum, tuition, admission, and examinations. Representatives will attend weekly meetings of the Academic Council, will join faculty committees, and will contribute to the discussions and activities that shape the JD program at Allard School of Law.
