LSS Senator

The Student Senator represents law students at the University’s highest governing body, the UBC Vancouver Senate, which controls issues of admissions, curriculum, budget, library services, awards, and other important affairs at monthly meetings during the winter and spring semesters.

There are 85 members on the UBC-Vancouver Senate, 18 of which are students. The Student Senator for the law faculty attends monthly meetings of the UBC Vancouver Senate, the Student Senate Caucus, and sits on a variety of Senate committees. Often, due to their legal training, the Student Senator sits on the two student appeals committees that render decisions on issues of academic misconduct and academic standing.
